The liver is the largest organ in the body and perform multiple functions to keep the body pure of toxins and harmful substances needed to digest fats.
Other functions of the liver includes:
1. Detoxifies the blood to rid it of harmful substances such as alcohol and drugs.
2. Stores some vitamins, iron and sugar in form of glucose.
3. Converts stored sugar to functional sugar to compensate for fall in the body's sugar(glucose) level.
4. Converts ammonia to urea which is very important in metabolism.
A malfunctional liver can have a great impact on health, causing chronic skin disease, headaches, bowel disorders.Symptoms of poor functioning liver can include sluggish digestion, fat intolerance, nausea and chronic constipation
