Anaemia means blood shortage or lack of red blood cells. People who do not have enough red blood cells in their blood stream are said to be suffering from Anaemia. There are many types of anaemia, the cause of anaemia is mostly iron deficiency.
Causes:-Bleeding such as heavy periods in women is the main cause of anaemia. Anaemia can also be cause by excessive destruction of red blood cells so that the bone marrow cannot produce enough to replace the once that are lost. Another cause can be due to insufficient production of RBCs due to many factors.Iron is a vital component of RBC production.Vitamin deficiency anaemia and pernicious anaemia are both forms of anaemia in which there is inadequate supply of vitamin B12 and folic acid.
